This mandatory course is designed to provide an understanding of Australian history, civics and citizenship
This course includes units on Digital Media and Web Development. Students are expected to complete one topic per week. Regular contact with teachers through forums, journals and email is expected.
The Year 9 Stage 5 pathway covers five content strands - Number, Patterns and Algebra, Data, Measurement, and Space and Geometry with the essential content, Working Mathematically, being embedded across all content strands. Students learn through questioning, applying strategies to solve problems,, including the selection of appropriate technology, communication, reasoning and reflection.
The aim of the PDHPE Years 7-10 Syllabus is to develop students' capacity to enhance personal health and wellbeing, enjoy an active lifestyle, maximise movement potential and advocate lifelong health and physical activity.
Students will need access to a computer with Adobe Photoshop Elements and either a digital camera or scanner. No prior experience is necessary. Workshops held at Sydney Distance Education High School are an important element of the course.
